‘The Death of Innocence’
“A fast paced novel with action in Thailand, the UK and the USA.
It will leave you wondering if anyone is really what they seem.”
George Simm, friend of the US President and well-respected American business guru, leads a double life… until he is murdered in Thailand.
For Kate O’Sullivan, a freelance journalist, his death provides the scoop of her dreams when her genius brother discovers Simm’s dark secret – by hacking into the CIA’s confidential report on the killing. Kate sells the story to The Crusader newspaper, setting in motion a bloody chain of events that destroys many lives, and threatens her own.
With a serial killer on the loose in Thailand, the CIA on the hunt for Kate’s brother, and ruthless men in London determined not to let Simm’s death expose their own evil activities, Kate’s world will never be the same again.

I have to say, that after so many years of not reading, finding the time or inclination to actually pick up a book was hard found. Yet, I stumbled upon this novel in Thailand (as you do), read the first few pages (which is usually as far as I get), and couldn’t put it down.
I’m now just 50-odd pages until then end and can’t wait to find out exactly what happens - tho I think I’ve got it sussed, but I guess every reader thinks that, until they pick up a good book! I’ll be back to let you know if I got it right or not…
Great read Will, fast action thriller it certainly is and and Remorseless I shall bury my head into next.

The Death of Innocence is a fast-paced and exciting read by new author, Will Patching. I had not read either of his novels previously and I was pleasantly suprised!
The novel is so full of twists and turns it really keeps you on the edge of your seat and wondering what could happen next.
The characters are so well rounded and believable - when I reached the end of the novel I wished I could continue following General Lee’s story as this formidable Chief of Police clearly has an interesting past.
I am a fan of crime/thriller writing and some of my favourite authors include Tess Gerristen, Alex Kava and Karin Slaughter - I think that Will Patching could be a contender for these best-selling authors in the near future.
I now am looking forward to reading his other novel, Remorseless.
